Setting the XY Datum with either the laser crosshair or tool centre

When setting the XY datum with the laser enabled, you will always be asked whether you are setting the datum with the laser crosshair OR with the centre of the tool. 

The prompt will come up automatically whenever you press any of the “SET” buttons on the console. 

Setting using the crosshair

To set the XY datum using the laser crosshair, you will need to ensure that the “Use laser datum?” box is checked when you confirm the position of your datum. 

When you set the datum, SmartBench will move the tool back over the target, ready to begin the job. 

Setting using the tool

To set the XY datum using the tool, you can just uncheck the “Use laser datum?” box, and then select “Yes”.
